At the same time, it will provide independent artists with exposure, music submission options, and industry-related services.

Akeem Brown, widely known as DJ Fat Jordan or BigHomie, is a Flint, Michigan native and a cornerstone of the city’s thriving music scene. With over 20 years’ experience as a producer and engineer, Akeem has played a pivotal role in shaping the sound and identity of Flint’s music, helping to cultivate the vibrant culture for which it’s known today.
Growing up, Akeem found opportunities were limited. While others gravitated toward basketball, he found his passion in music, choosing to dedicate himself to producing and engineering. His innovative approach and commitment to his community have made him a respected figure in the industry and a driving force behind many successful careers.
When Akeem noticed that Flint artists weren’t getting the local support they needed from radio stations and other music media outlets, he became a DJ to ensure Flint’s music was heard on a larger scale. He created his own platform to amplify the voices of local talent and showcase their work to a broader audience.
In addition to his solo endeavors, Akeem and fellow producers including Bamondabeat, came together to form Slapp Squads to teach Flint’s youth about music production. Through Slapp Squads, Akeem and his collaborators are fostering a new generation of talent, while strengthening the city’s music scene from within. Now also the CEO of 810 Global, Akeem continues to nurture raw talent and turn it into professional excellence. He’s been instrumental in putting Flint on the map as a hub of musical creativity and remains steadfast in his mission to foster greatness within the city’s music culture, ensuring Flint’s influence continues to grow on a global scale.
